Breaking the Stigma: Why Talking About Periods Matters

In many communities across Nigeria and Africa, menstruation is still considered a taboo topic. Girls are taught to hide their periods, to whisper about cramps, and to feel ashamed of something completely natural.

At LADYPROF, we believe this silence is dangerous.

The Cost of Silence

When girls cannot openly discuss their periods, they miss out on crucial health information. They may not recognize warning signs of conditions like endometriosis or PCOS. They may feel alone in their struggles.

How We Are Changing Things

Through our seminars, we create safe spaces where girls can ask questions without judgment. We train teachers and parents to have open conversations about menstrual health.

When we break the stigma together, we empower every girl to take control of her health.
